Home Alone was the theme of our 2025 framily Christmas Party. Everyone loved it so much and even had shirts made to match the theme. Follow along so you can create your own Home Alone inspired Christmas Party!
Decorations:
Let's start with all the fun decorations I had outside my house!
Our girls dressed up as the Wet Bandits so of course I had to turn our Ranger into the plumbing van from the movies. I used a Cricut to cut out removable vinyl letters. I purchase this svg file on Etsy.
Then the stairs were covered in "tar" with a bucket of pretend tar with nails on top. For the tar I used a table runner similar to this from Amazon and taped it to the steps. You can download this file to wrap around any paint can you already have!
Of course I had to display a snow shovel like the scary old man had along with some salt!
Lastly, I made a mat using the words from Angels with Filthy Souls part of the movie. I made a stencil with my Cricut, taped it to a mat and used acrylic paint for the letters. Lastly, I sprayed the mat with sealer. If you don't have a way to make stencils, you can purchase the mat already made on Etsy.
Now let's move inside the house!
I always turn my formal dining room into the themed room. Paint cans were hung from the ceiling and of course a cutout of Michael Jordan on a train!
I have a giant painting I covered with white craft paper and drew Kevin's battle plan on it. If you want to recreate this, make sure to tape the paper together and draw the plan before placing on painting. If you're not too crafty or don't have time, you can purchase this file on Etsy and print at UPS!
The table was filled with tons of items from the movie. This table runner is made to look like room service receipt from Home Alone 2, when he ordered ice cream and tons of toppings. You can download this file I created and upload it to offercustom for them to make it. Be sure to duplicate the picture all the way down the entire length of the runner.
Each place setting was set with a Little Neros Pizza Box, they were allowed to use these are their plates. To make your own, purchase white pizza boxes and printable sticker paper. Download this file from Etsy and print on the sticker paper and cut to size!
The cups were made to look like paint buckets like Kevin used to hit the buglers in the head. I purchased these from Temu , if you're not into Temu, you could use these from Walmart. I used my Cricut to cut out what looks like paint onto vinyl. If you don't have a Cricut, you could use stickers like these from Etsy!
Each guest received some green TicTacs from Santa, like in the movie! There was also these Merry Christmas napkins and matching plates from Amazon.
Lastly, I scattered ornaments, army soldiers and toys cars throughout the table.
Drink Table:
For the drink table I added props from the movie, like the fan with feathers, iron, Talkboy (from Ebay), spilled milk, fire crackers, statue of liberty sign and VHS tapes. Since the Angels with Fifthly Souls tape doesn't exist, you can download this file then printed it at UPS. If you don't have an old VHS case on hand, you can get a used DVD from the thrift store then switch out the cover. Don't forget to add a Merry Christmas banner!
Ornaments on the tree were also themed to the movie like Mac & Cheese, airplane, iron, Trump, Wanted poster, Talkboy, Pepsi and topped off with a tarantula.
If you want to go all out and decorate the bathroom like I did, just add this Kevin decal, some aftershave, toothpaste and a toothbrush!
Food & Drinks:
Of course we had to eat what Kevin eats, so we went with Pizza, mac & cheese and added some salad for something healthy, lol!
For the beverage I had a Filthy Animal Soda Bar. Dirty Sodas are all the rage so why not? If you want to make one too, you can download this sign to use!
Dessert was none other than a Sundae Bar! Using my Cricut (it really earned it's keep this party), I cut out sayings from the movies that Kevin said when was eating ice cream. The gummies are spider shaped gummies, here are some similar from Amazon!
Outfits:
If you have followed me for awhile you know I like to dress the theme! This year everyone either had shirts with sayings or Home Alone themed shirts. Our family dressed up as some of the people in the movie. I was Kevin's mom, my husband was the pizza delivery guy and our girls were the Wet Bandits.I even made a bandana for our dog!
Games & Crafts:
This year I downloaded these cards from Etsy and we played Home Alone Pictionary!
For the craft I had each kid pretend to be Kevin and the parents, the Wet Bandits. Here is my blog on how you can create these yourself! Everyone loved this idea!
