Our 2024 Christmas party theme was Home Alone, so what is more fun than to turn your kids into Kevin? Without the losing them of course! Here is how I created these ornaments:

Supplies:
Blue Foam Board
Cellophane
Spray Snow
Scissors
Pencil
Packing tape
8.5x11 cardstock
Optional: Flashlight, black hat, crowbar, gloves
Instruction to create window:
Step 1:
Using your cardstock as a stencil, trace 4 window panes on your foam board. If I could redo it, I would move the panes up more so there was a longer bottom to cover more the legs of the people in the back..

Step 2:
Cut out panes with rotary cutter. You may want to place something like a mat underneath to not ruin your counter top.
Step 3:
Tape cellophane to one side of the foam board (If your foam board has two blue colors like mine, make sure to tape the cellophane to the lighter blue side so you want to make it exactly like the VHS cover. I did it wrong, LOL!)

Step 4:
Spray cellophane to create snow

Now let's take the photos:
Step 1:
Get your Wet Bandits gear on if you opted to go all in! (We messed up on this one and had my daughter in a beanie, oops, don't do that. LOL)

Step 2:
Have the adults stand behind the window and have the child sit in front or if this is a friends party, you choose. Make sure the one in the front pretends they are Kevin and make the screaming face. Enlist the help of another or use a selfie stand to take a pic.
IMPORTANT: the person who is "Kevin" should sit closer to the camera. I didn't do this and had to use photoshop to edit the photo to extend the window to cover our legs up. Look at the movie cover to make it as similar as possible.
Step 3:
Download this template and insert your photo. You can do this by left clicking the phot in the middle of the frame and hit replace. Then just replace with your photo.
Step 4:
Print photo on transfer paper
Now let's make the ornament:
Step 1:
Cut out photo to a little more than the size of the ornament.
Step 2:
Peel off the photo from the backing

Step 3:
Place on the wood and iron on according to directions that came with the paper. Instead of 45 seconds, I just did 25 and it was perfect!

Step 4:
Insert a piece of the twine into hole to create a hanger for the ornament.
Step 5:
Display on your tree!
