Add a handmade touch to your Christmas celebration with these personalized Nutcracker ornaments! This simple holiday craft is a fun way to get creative while making something special to hang on the tree year after year. Personalize each Nutcracker to create a sweet keepsake, party activity, or even a handmade gift for someone special.

Supplies Needed:

Before the craft session:

Prepare the ornaments: To prepare the nutcrackers for this craft we will have to remove whatever item is attached to them. For instance, some are holding a sword, or staff. Use the pliers to break off the items. If needed shave down the remnants with sand paper to make it smooth.

Set up crafting space:

Set up your crafting area by first covering up the table with a plastic cover, kraft paper or wrapping paper. Place small cups for water, paint, brushes, figurines and paint trays in the middle of the table. You can also put a nutcracker at each place setting ahead of time and guests can switch if they want.

The Craft Session:

When the guests arrive have them choose a spot and switch nutcrackers if desired. Then start painting!

As the nutcrackers are drying, let the guests select which item(s) they would like their nutcracker to have. For instance, one of the guest I had loved soccer, so they chose the soccer ball. Another loves purses so they chose theirs to hold a purse. (If you know your guests well you can purchase items you know they will like for their nutcracker. Shein seems to have a lot of small items in bigger packs which will give guests more options).

Once dry, use a glue gun to attach the figurine to the nutcracker. If needed, also add a ribbon for the nutcracker to hang.

And that’s all there is to it! These personalized Nutcracker ornaments are such a fun way to add a little handmade Christmas magic to your tree. Whether you make them as a holiday craft, give them as gifts, or create one for each member of the family, they’re a special keepsake you can bring out and enjoy Christmas after Christmas. Happy crafting and Merry Christmas!
